The VIEW at Equatorial Hotel Penang

Talking about food, Penang have lots of delicious food. Besides local food, there are some fine dining available in Penang area too. Near Bukit Jambul area. Since it also near Bayan Lepas area, if you plan for fine dining with your couple or maybe your boss treating you for great lunch/dinner with no budget limit, you can choose The VIEW.





The VIEW has a very good environment and delicious food. It is a semi buffet style dining which you will need to choose a main dish (bunch of French dishes) such as steak, fish and etc. Then once you done the order, you can start grabbing some food at the buffet corner. The buffet consist of appetizers (salad, salmon fish, raw oyster, cold plated food, pasta and etc.) and desserts (cakes, pudding, snacks and etc). As usual we will start with some appetizers. There are lots to choose.







Avoid getting too full on the 1st round. Just take some light food and eat slowly. The main dish will arrive approximately 20-30 minutes after ordering.



Codfish main course (above) and if you want to treat yourself or been treated, you can ask for their Signature Steak or ask for Kobe Beef. Not all the time they have Kobe Beef but sometime they do have and they might have others prime beef.



After finish the main dish, time to get more buffet!! Take more appetizer that you can take or you may start grabbing desserts to fill up the tummy.



Eating at The VIEW is not cheap. Seriously not cheap and rather very expensive. Approximately ~RM120 per person and depending on the food you order too. Ordering Signature Steak will cost you ~RM300 per person. That is what I call fine dining.

Chinese New Year and Cultural Heritage Celebration 2012

This event is not something new. However, many people do not know about this event or much about it. From this events, we can learn about the Chinese culture in Penang and Heritage viewing. Did you know what happens at the same place 80 years ago? What is the traditional Chinese in Penang at the same place maybe 50 years ago? We learn about the traditional Chinese health, medicine, foods, handicrafts, Clan House in Penang and the history of Sun Yat Sen. The venue is the combination of several streets include Armenian St, Ah Quee St, Acheh St, Canon St, Chulia St, Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling, Soo Hong Lane and Kampong Kolam.

It is a must see event. Crowded and long walk. Recommend to wear sport shoe if you plan to walk for hours. Actually if we spend time to take a look in details, we could spend eventually hours there.

Although it is a past event, we could spend some time again next year for this event. It will be happening during the week of Chinese New Year.

Paintball at Gen-X paintball park, Simpang Empat

When we talk about paintball, there are plenty of nice places to go. If you are looking for something cheap and affordable, Gen-X is quite a good and cheap paintball park.

There are two arena. One with hump, and several natural alike obstacles. It make the feel like in battlefield.

The other one with air balloon or bag. Well this doesn’t look fun to me.

There is a target shooting area if you have plenty of bullets or practicing before entering the arena.



What happen when your shoe came off when in the battleground?



The suite may not really good at absorbing pain. Just a plain jacket and a helmet. Getting a shot at near range to the body can be paintball. Therefore, we don’t play short distance shooting.

Overall it is not a good place to play if you can afford a better place. However, if want to play some paintball at cheaper price, this place can be quite affordable.
